eLearning studios
These are our most advanced learning environments, designed to support e-learning and collaborative practice within small group settings. We recommend these studios for any event where you want the participants to work in groups, sharing a computer, and working collaboratively, as they develop documents or explore on-line resources.
These learning environments contain multiple round/oval tables, each seating up to four or five people, that facilitate collaborative group work by participants.
All studios are equipped with a broad collection of multimedia equipment that allows presenters to utilise diverse media.
Minimum equipment specifications
- White-boards for presenters and participants (generally distributed around the room)
- One data projector
- VCR player
- DVD/CD player
- Overhead projector (OHP)
- Networked computer (dual boot iMac) for the presenter, with USB ports - plug in your own memory stick
- One computer per audience table
- All computers are "linked" by collaboration software [PDF 176kb 9 pages] (called NetOp School), which facilitates document sharing; allowing presenters to display group work on the presentation wall, for wider group discussion.
Additional equipment in most eLearning studios
- Interactive white-boards called SmartBoards - specialised presentation surfaces that cannot be written on with ordinary white-board pens
