Theatres
We have a range of theatres of varying sizes which are ideal for plenary and parallel sessions at your conference, with capacity ranging from 65 to 493, depending upon location.
Your conference presenters will have the flexibility to deploy diverse media, ranging from PowerPoint to VCR/DVD content to 35mm slides.
Minimum equipment specifications
- Integrated touch panel control systems
- Networked computer(s) for presenters (Mac and/or PC)
- Laptop connectivity for presenters
- At least one data/video projector
- At least one overhead projector (OHP) for transparencies
- VCR player (PAL/NTSC)
- DVD player (via PC)
- CD player (via PC)
- Microphone & speakers
Additional equipment in most theatres:
- DVD/CD player (multi-zone)
- Dual slide projection
- Cassette/CD player
eSeminar rooms
These rooms are ideal for small parallel sessions at your conference, with capacity ranging from 20 to 50, depending upon location.
Your conference presenters will have the flexibility to deploy diverse media, ranging from PowerPoint to VCR/DVD content to 35mm slides.
Minimum equipment specifications
- Networked presenter PC
- One data projector
- VCR/DVD combo player (or separate VCR player and DVD/CD player)
- At least one Overhead Projector (OHP) for transparencies
Additional equipment in a few selected eSeminar rooms only:
- Presenter laptop connectivity
- Dual data projection
- Dual slide projection
- Document camera
- CD/Cassette players
- Mac instead of PC
eLearning studios
These studios are ideal for conference parallel sessions involving considerable interaction with technology, with studio capacity ranging from 25 to 40 delegates. The studios are ideal for demonstrations of new software or online resources.
Each studio contains multiple round/oval tables, each seating up to four or five conference delegates, which help to facilitate collaborative group work by participants.
Fixed white-boards are provided for presenters and delegates (generally distributed around the room)
Minimum equipment specifications
- One data projector only
- VCR player
- DVD/CD player
- Overhead projector (OHP) for transparencies
- One PC for presenter(s)
- Shared PCs for participant groups (generally one PC per four participants)
- All PCs are "linked" by collaboration software [PDF 176kb 9 pages] (called NetOp School), which facilitates document sharing; allowing presenters to display participant group work on the presentation wall, for wider discussion.
Additional equipment in most eLearning studios:
- Interactive white-boards called SmartBoards - specialised presentation surfaces that cannot be written on with ordinary white-board pens.
Learning suites (with SmartBoards)
These suites are ideal for conference parallel sessions involving delegate interaction. Some suites are arranged in a board-room style.
Each suite generally features either:
- Multiple round/oval tables, each seating up to four or five delegates, that facilitate collaborative group work
----OR----
- One large "board-room style" table that fosters open discussion
In the larger rooms, fixed white-boards are provided for presenters and delegates (generally distributed around the room).
All spaces are equipped with a broad collection of multimedia equipment that allows presenters to utilise diverse media.
The capacity of these rooms currently ranges from a lower limit of 15 to an upper limit of 50, depending upon campus location.

Workshops (BYO laptop)
These rooms are ideal for conference parallel sessions involving delegate interaction, such as collaborative group workshop activities.
Each workshop (BYO laptop) contains multiple round/oval tables, each seating up to four or five delegates. All furniture is easily moveable to ensure that delegates can maximise flexibility within the space.
In the larger rooms, fixed white-boards are provided for presenters and participants (generally distributed around the room).
All spaces are equipped with a broad collection of multimedia equipment that allows presenters to utilise diverse media.
The capacity of these rooms is currently set at 25.

Workshops
These suites are ideal for conference parallel sessions involving delegate interaction, such as collaborative group workshop activities.
Each workshop space contains multiple round/oval tables, each seating up to four or five delegates, that facilitate collaborative group work. All furniture is easily moveable to ensure that delegates can maximise flexibility within the space.
White-boards are provided for presenters and participants (generally distributed around the room to provide flexible options).
