Known IssuesOverviewThe following page lists Know Issues with the Active Directory Service Preferred DepartmentThe University's Account Registration System (ARS) utlises department percentage loadings that is fed from HR(Themsis) to determine the primary or preferred Department for a staff member. For example: Joe Blogs works for two departments, department 850 at 40 percent of his time, and department 300 for 60 percent. During nightly feds ARS will place Joe's account at the location for department 300 in the Active Directory Issue: At times HR(Themis) feeds ARS with staff member information that has a even percentage across multiple departments or zero percentage loadings across multiple departments, resulting in the staff account ending up in the wrong department in the Active Directory. Work Around: Usually local IT need access to user settings such as home directory and logon script path. Since the user is placed in the wrong location in Active Directory the local IT that require access to these settings are denied access. Identity and Access will make the changes necessary for that user until this issue is resolved. If you are affect by this problem please log a incident via the service desk. Fix Identity and Access have been working with the Themsis support team to correct the issue with a field know as primary department. This should be released shortly. Resolution Identity and Acess have now implemented a fix to resolve this problem. AD should now show the correct location for the user's preferred dept. |
