Account Registration System - Known issues
The webserver that drives accounts.unimelb.edu.au currently only supports SSL version 2. Recent browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0 come with SSLv2 disabled by default. If you are using one of these browsers and you experience trouble accessing the site, please follow the instructions below to enable a workaround.
Internet Explorer 7
- From within Internet Explorer open the Tools menu and select Internet Options
- Next select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security settings near the bottom
- Check the box marked Use SSL 2.0
- You should now be able to reload the page
Firefox 2.0
- In the address bar type about:config
- Scroll down until you find the section starting with the word security
- Double click security.enable_ssl2
- Double click security.ssl2.des_ede3_192
- Both of these options should now appear in bold indicating that they are active
- You should now be able to reload the page
