Programmes Organised to Continually Improve IT Security:

* Contact point between AusCERT (Australian Computer Emergency Response Team) and the University. Communication of most critical issues quickly, coordinating a central response to new issues. The AusCERT website is at: www.auscert.org.au

* Receiving reports from University staff on IT Security incidents, and maintaining records of those events. Providing guidance to departmental staff for their investigation and rectification of issues, and coordinating central responses to departmental security events.

* Maintain a website for IT Security information relevant to the University, including guidelines, rules and regulations, alerts, news and advice.

* Coordinating the investigation, tracking and response to external reports on IT Security events which involve University computer systems.

* SecureCon
An annual conference focusing on IT Security for IT Staff. Workshops and Seminars cover new concepts and practical procedures. The conference has an organising committee involving various departments and sections of the Information Division.

* Work with IT administrators in Faculties and Departments to provide advice and improve IT Security.

* Participation in committees and seminars in the University to increase the awareness, educate and improve IT Security in the University.
