Statistical Software Installation

Statistical packages reside on the Softdist server: \\is-fs1b.infodiv.unimelb.edu.au\softdist. The recommended procedure is that departmental IT staff (LITEs) install the software off Softdist on University computers.

IT staff

To get access to the software on Softdist please submit your request via http://servicedesk.unimelb.edu.au.

Users

• To install the software on a University computer please contact your departmental LITE.
• If a department has no LITE please submit your query via http://servicedesk.unimelb.edu.au.
• To borrow the media for installing the software on a private computer or on a non networked computer please submit your request via http://servicedesk.unimelb.edu.au .
• Users receive installation CDs via internal mail or by post.
• Installation instructions and licence files are distributed via email.
