Phone Functions

Note: EARTH FLASH may also refer to RECALL or PBX RECALL or TRF depending on type of telephone.

(Some older brown and beige phones will need "*" and "#" pressed twice e.g. to set CALL FORWARD ALL press "**1"; to cancel press "##1".)

Click the "Expand : Minimise" links to expand or minimise all answers.

  1. Hold
    1. Ask caller to wait.
    2. Press EARTH FLASH or PBX RECALL or RECALL (depending on phone type)
    3. Press *7
    4. Do not hang up - place handset on desk
    5. To return to calls, replace handset and telephone will ring back with caller
  2. Callback
    1. Ring desired extension
    2. Hear engaged tone
    3. Press EARTH FLASH
    4. Press *0 and listen for tone
    5. Replace handset
    6. When both extensions are free, your telephone will ring
    7. Lift handset and your telephone will automatically dial the extension you required
    To Cancel:
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial #0
    3. Replace handset
  3. Call Pickup Group
    1. Lift handset
    2. Press **
    3. Speak to caller
  4. Call Pickup Direct
    1. Lift handset
    2. Press ##
    3. Enter extension number of telephone which is ringing
    4. Speak to caller
  5. Forward All
    1. Lift handset
    2. Press ##
    3. Enter extension number of telephone which is ringing
    4. Speak to caller
  6. Forward No Answer
    7. To Set
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial *1
    3. Dial extension number to which calls are to be redirected and listen for set tone
    4. Replace handset
    To Cancel
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial #1
    3. Replace handset
  7. Forward No Answer
    8. To Set
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial *2
    3. Dial extension number to which calls are to be redirected and listen for set tone
    4. Replace handset
    To Cancel
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial #2
    3. Replace handset
  8. Forward Busy
    9. To Set
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial *3
    3. Dial extension number to which calls are to be redirected and listen for set tone
    4. Replace handset
    To Cancel
    1. Lift handset
    2. Dial #3
    3. Replace Handset
