- Check phone securely plugged in at wall socket and back of handset.
Extension shows up as 'RST' (and gives a long busy tone)
All handset types- Check whether the extension has been given up by the department as surplus to requirements, in which case it will have been put into 'make busy' at the PABX. This will not happen without authorisation from the department that 'owns' it.
- Check with Telephone Systems to see if extension has been given up.
- Extensions can be RST if the phone has been left off-hook for a long period. Hanging-up the phone should return dial tone.
- Extensions can be RST for other reasons, e.g. short circuits, which will need to be reported as faults.
No receiving ring on incoming calls

- Check ringer on low or high, but not on off (bottom of phone)
Phone rings once then nothing

Phone rings, when I pick up there's no connection/no one there
All handset types- Check no delayed call diversion set (call forward no answer) - remove by lifting receiver, dialling #2, waiting for tone then hanging up.

- Have you previously been able to pick-up those numbers (using ** on analogue phones, or CPU button on D-Terms)?
- If yes, report as a fault.
- If no, you need to arrange a cpu group - see programming information.
Cannot transfer calls
D-Term 32D- Check how you have picked up the call - by pressing the CPU button, or pressing the line appearance key (flashing red light). You cannot transfer a call that you have picked up from the line appearance key. You must pick up a call using the CPU button if you wish to transfer it.
