Our strong tradition of innovation & experimentation

Delivery and exploration

Our current focus is enriching the Learning Management System with a range of resources including Readings Online, Lectopia recordings, rich media content, and links to interactive tools. We are developing our open source Sakai environment to support Research Higher Degree students and other research cohorts. In collaboration with academics, we are updating some legacy courseware and re-purposing some content for placement within the LMS. In association with Melbourne Ventures, we are exploring commercialisation options for some legacy and current courseware products.

Past achievements in collaboration with academic colleagues

All current initiatives draw upon a rich body of expertise and experience across the University, and a strong tradition of innovation in multimedia development for learning. See our archive at the bottom of this page for insights into past achievements by professional and academic colleagues who are passionate about how educational technology and multimedia can enhance and transform the learning and teaching experience. Our current and future work in collaboration with these academics is informed and inspired by our shared tradition of innovation.

A possible future focus

In the spirit of this tradition of innovation and experimentation, we would like to partner with any academics that are interested in evaluating the learning potential of social networking tools:
