Media format conversion and reproduction
We provide specialist format conversion and reproduction services that enable academics to maximize student access to educational media and deploy this media in the most convenient and cost-effective format, via LMS subject presence or LMS community sites. We can facilitate the following services, according to our schedule of service fees:
- Conversion from video to digital media: We can capture all video formats and transfer to digital formats.
- Conversion from audio to digital media: We can transfer audio content from analogue to digital formats.
- Conversion from video to still image: We can provide a print-out of a single frame from any analogue or digital video source
- Conversion from 35mm slide to digital image: We can advise on appropriate digitisation standards, co-ordinate the conversion process (generally using approved external providers), and provide quality checks for completed work
- Video dubbing: We can duplicate all video formats and standards (PAL, NTSC, SECAM).
- Audio duplication: We can provide duplication from all audio formats
- CD duplication: We can facilitate CD to CD reproduction in small to large numbers.
These services are subject to regular revision, in response to emerging technologies and our research into practices at other universities.
Service availability
These services are available to any authorised staff member able to supply a Themis code.
Service provision is subject to compliance with relevant copyright legislation and guidelines.
Due to increasing demand for our services, the supply of some services may be subject to the availability of specialist staff and resources.
